Mainly produced in Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and other places. Can be collected year-round. Remove the sapwood, split into small pieces, dry in the shade and use raw.

　　1. Bleeding syndrome. This product is pungent, dispersing and warming, can remove blood stasis, promote bleeding and stop bleeding. It is suitable for stasis bleeding, especially for internal and external bleeding caused by bruises. It is a commonly used product in surgery. For example, "Famous Doctors" treats bleeding from knife wounds, grind this product into powder alone and apply externally; "Hundred One Selected Prescriptions" treats wounds caused by golden blades or falls and the blood flow does not stop, use this product and gallnuts to grind together, pound and apply to the affected area. If it is used to treat internal injuries such as vomiting blood and epistaxis, which are caused by blood stasis or Qi-fire inversion, this product can reduce Qi, remove blood stasis and stop bleeding, and is often used together with paeonol and turmeric.

　　2. Pain in the chest and hypochondrium, pain due to falls and blood stasis. This herb has a pungent taste and can be dispersed and dissipated. It can remove blood stasis, regulate qi and relieve pain. It can be used to treat pain in the chest, flanks and abdomen caused by blood stasis and qi stagnation, as well as pain caused by falls, blood stasis and swelling. Clinical research: Use this product in equal parts with Ligusticum chuanxiong, red peony root, salvia miltiorrhiza, and safflower to treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular ischemic diseases, with a total effective rate of 94.2% (New Journal of Medicine, 1978, 6:41); use 1g each of salvia miltiorrhiza and algal root to form a compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection.
