Cold in nature, it is suitable for rheumatism and heat paralysis; after brewing, it can nourish the liver and kidneys. It is often used for rheumatic paralysis, weakness of muscles and bones, soreness and weakness of waist and knees, paralysis of limbs, or stroke and hemiplegia. It can be taken alone as a pill, such as Xiu Powder ("Compilation of Prescriptions for Living People"), Xiu Wan ("Wan's Family Prescriptions"); or combined with Wutong, such as Xitong Wan ("Ji Shi Health Preservation Experience Collection"). "Fangmai Zhengzong" is combined with akidonia, astragalus, angelica, clematis, etc. to treat stroke, squinting of the mouth and eyes, and hemiplegia.
