Laparotomy surgery for uterine fibroids generally takes 60-180 minutes. The specific time is related to the number, size, location and intraoperative conditions of the fibroids.

The length of surgery is mainly affected by the size of the fibroid. Single fibroids with a diameter of less than 5 cm can usually be completed within 60-90 minutes. If the fibroid is located in the uterine muscle wall or in the submucosa, the dissection process requires more precision and may extend to 90-120 minutes. Multiple fibroids or fibroids with a diameter of more than 10 cm need to be removed one by one and the shape of the uterus must be reconstructed, and the operation time often takes 120-180 minutes. If serious pelvic adhesion or other pathological changes are found during the operation, the doctor needs to deal with it simultaneously, which will also increase the length of the operation.
