I lost 4 pounds in a week. But on the 8th day, I couldn't bear it anymore. I woke up in the middle of the night and ordered three fried skewers to show off. Later, I rebounded even heavier than before. It was then that I realized that the kind of weight loss that is caused by extreme restraint cannot be maintained.
Nowadays, there are always people arguing on the Internet whether it is better to control carbon or fat. Some people even say that the calorie gap is a pseudo-concept. In fact, there is nothing wrong with both sides, but they are suitable for different groups of people. For a person who loves to eat staple food and cannot do without rice and noodles every day, if you force him to eat a ketogenic meal and eat butter and avocado every day, he will collapse within three days. Instead, it is better to appropriately reduce the amount of refined rice and noodles, replace it with half of whole grains, and eat other dishes as normal; but for someone who does not like to eat staple food and cannot live without braised pork and barbecue, it is much more comfortable to properly control the fat intake than to force yourself to eat two bowls of rice. As for those who say that calorie deficit is useless, most of them are people whose metabolism has been damaged by extreme dieting. As long as ordinary healthy people consume more than they consume, their weight will definitely go down. This is the basic law of energy conservation. There is no need to fight hard to gain attention.
There is no need to make this matter complicated. Just like when we usually save money, the caloric gap is the amount of money you have to save every month. You can’t save money on rent and food. In the end, it will cost you more money when your body collapses. You can’t eat a lot of money this month and save tens of thousands next month, and you will never be able to save enough food. When bringing meals to work, you don’t need to be precise in grams. Just make a rough estimate: a fist-sized staple food, a palm-thick portion of lean meat, fish, shrimp, eggs and other proteins, and two large handfuls of green leafy vegetables. Use less oil for cooking. Don’t carry it when you are hungry at 3 or 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Grab a few small tomatoes or a small handful of original nuts as a cushion. It is better than being so hungry that you can’t help but buy milk tea cakes on the way to get off work.
It has been almost 3 years since I adjusted my diet. Now I can go out to eat hot pot and skewers with my friends. I even occasionally get craving for ice cream in the middle of the night. My weight has always fluctuated within the ideal range and has never rebounded. To put it bluntly, weight management is not a short-term assault task at all. Finding a way of eating that you can comfortably eat for a lifetime is more effective than any sky-high-priced slimming meals or quick weight loss methods.
